Dominica to host final matches of U13 and U17 in Football tournament on Jan 30

Roseau, Dominica: The finalists in both the 13 and under and U17 Division of the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football competition will be settled on Monday, 30th January 2023, at Lindo Park in Goodwill and the Newtown Savanna.

At Lindo Park, the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School will come up against the Dominica Grammar School in one of the two Semifinals of the 13 and under Division from 2:30 pm. 

While over in Newtown, the CastleBruce Secondary School and the Portsmouth Secondary School will face each other in both divisions, the 13 and under Semifinal and the U17 playoff match, for a spot in both finals. At 2:00 pm the Semifinal in the 13 and under will take place, and at 3:30 pm, the U17 Division playoff match.

Sports Division of Dominica took to Facebook and shared the activities for the upcoming events and another week filled with School Sports begins this Monday with a packed afternoon.

In Netball :

• At the CHS Grounds –
• 2:30 pm Orion vs DGS (U16)
• 3:30 pm PSS vs DGS (U20)

In Volleyball :

At Grand Bay –

• 2 pm Pierre Charles Secondary School vs Dominica State College (girls)
• 3:30 pm PCSS vs DSC (boys)

In Football :

At Lindo Park –

• 2 pm Dominica Grammar School vs Isaiah Thomas Secondary School (U13 Semi Final)

At Newtown :

• 2:30 pm Castle Bruce Secondary School vs Portsmouth Secondary School (U13 Semi Final)
• 3:30 pm CBSS vs PSS (U17 Playoff)

Students of the DGS were seen on Friday afternoon at Lindo Park preparing for the upcoming Sports Division Secondary Schools Basketball championship. The students were assisted by a Dominican coach who is based in Canada.
