Roseau, Dominica: The Central Statistics Office has announced the commencement of recruitment for enumerators to conduct the 2021 National Census. The Population and Housing Census 2021 of the Commonwealth of Dominica are coming in 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every facet of normality since the onset, and the execution of the national census in 2021, as mandated by the law, couldn’t have been a reality. 

Nevertheless, due to the importance of such an activity, the government of Dominica, with the Central Statistics pushing ahead and are now accepting applications for enumerators, as it is stated in the government notices such as: 

  • If you are confident? 
  • If you are courteous? 
  • If you patient and willing to go the extra mile? 
  • So, people could visit www.Stats.gov.dm/censusapp/ and on their Facebook page @The Central Statistics Office of Dominica or call 2663405 for assistance. 

Further, the government of the Commonwealth of Dominica also issued a notice for the MARIGOT Village Council By-Election. It stated that on Thursday, March 17, 2022, the under-mentioned candidates were nominated to contest the Marigot Village Council By-Election. 

The name of the candidates are:

  1. Beulah Claire Bedminster
  2. Josh Jahmal Doresette
  3. Michael “Passy” Pascal

The by-election is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. The voting will commence at eight o’clock in the morning and close at five o’clock in the afternoon on that same day. 

The authorities of the Marigot have urged the residents of the community to exercise their right to vote. 

Further, the government of Dominica also issued a notice for the Roseau City Council. It has wished to remind owners and occupiers of properties within the boundaries of the City of Roseau that Municipal rates for the year 2022 become due on April Ist, 2022. 

The authorities have informed that payments can now be made at the Office of the Roseau City Council situated at the corner of Long Lane and Hillsborough Street. 

They have also advised the property owners of land and House rates to visit the Council’s office to make arrangements to have all unpaid Municipal and Land, and House rates settled. 

The Council solicit the Cooperation of all owners and occupiers of properties within the boundaries of the City of Roseau.
