Roseau, Dominica: Dominica State College became the champion of the 2023 Schools Under 20 cricket tournament on Friday, March 20, 2023. The DSC defeated the Castle Bruce Secondary School and secured the victory by 376 runs.
Sports Division of Dominica took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the match and the results of the match. It added that Dominica State College 2023 Schools Under 20 Cricket Champions. The match was held at Benjamin’s Park.
The DSC, powered by Kyron Phillip’s century, defeated the Castle Bruce Secondary School on Friday to take the 2023 title. Firstly, the toss was won by Castle Bruce Secondary School, which chose to bowl first.
The Dominica State College set the target of 454 runs at seven outs; on the other hand, Castle Bruce Secondary School didn’t make up for the target.

Sports Division of Dominica added that Kyron Phillip (DSC) was awarded the final MVP. The total match aggregated 183 runs and three wickets for 11 runs.
Earlier, Twelve secondary schools were today presented with track and field uniforms by the Ministry responsible for Sports. The presentation was made at a ceremony held at the Windsor Park Stadium.
The complete kits were procured at the cost of close to $40000. The ceremony was addressed by Minister for Culture Youth Sports and Community Development Gretta Roberts and Sports Coordinator Trevor Shillingford.
The kits were presented ahead of the Secondary Schools Athletics Championship which takes place on March 22 and 23 at Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth.
