Roseau, Dominica: One of the two games scheduled to be played on Friday, December 9 in Dominica, in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football competition in the U17 Division took place in Stock Farm.

The Castle Bruce Secondary School got a commanding victory over the Goodwill Secondary School by 7 goals to nil, Fabio Drigo, D’Mario Challenger, and Turrie Christmas got a brace each and one goal from Bryson Talbert completed the scoring for Castle Bruce Secondary School.

Sports Division Secondary Schools Football returned to the Londonderry playing field on Friday 9th December after a long absence in the U17 Division.

It wasn’t a Happy homecoming for the North East Comprehensive School as they were defeated by Portsmouth Secondary School by 4 goals to 2.

Scoring for PSS were Je’dyan Lockhart with 2 goals, Jerial Lewis and Nashon Lessy scored 1 goal each. Jalen Dorsette scored both goal for the North East Comprehensive School.

The Sports Division continues with it’s planning for the staging of the inaugural Secondary Schools Cross Country Championship which is carded for December 16, 2022. The event which is expected to take place at the Cabrits National Park will cater for male and female athletes in two age categories, the under 15 and under 20.

On Thursday members of the staff sub committee for track and field made a site visit and site meeting at the Cabrits. Final measurements were done and the identification of areas for intervention and other logistics were looked at.

The members of the sub committee were joined by the Sports Officer North, Ellington Sabin and the Sports Coordinator, Trevor Shillingford.

After years of inactivity, the Londonderry playing field will host it’s first competitive football match on Friday December 9. The home team North East Comprehensive School will take on the Portsmouth Secondary School in the Under 17 division of the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship from 2:30pm.

Earlier today members of the Wesley and Woodford Hill NEP beautification teams were busy undertaking lawn maintenance activities to ensure the readiness of the field. Earlier in the year the Sports Division installed new goalposts on the field.
