Dominica secures second place in 2023 Windward Islands Schools Games

Dominica secured the second position overall at the 2023 Windward Islands Schools Games. The games were held in Grenada, which secured first place.

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica secured the second position overall at the 2023 Windward Islands Schools Games. The games were held in Grenada, which secured first place.  

The host country, Grenada, placed first, with St.Lucia in third place. Dominica got first positions in three disciplines, Basketball, boys and girls, and Volleyball, boys. The Netball team came second whilst the girl’s volleyball team came third.

A closing ceremony was held this evening where a number of awards were presented. Dominica’s MVPs for each discipline also received trophies.

Sports Division of Dominica shared snapshots of the Windwards Schools Games. Dominica wins Girl’s Basketball Championship at Windward Islands School Games. Dominica won their final game of Football against St. Vincent by four goals to 2. 

At the end of quarter # 3, Dominica stands at 45, while Grenada stands at 23 in Girl’s Basketball Final. At the half, Dominica secured 21 runs, while Grenada stands at 15 at the Girl’s Basketball Final. 

Dominica secured three wins, two championships confirmed and a second place. Dominica secured the top spot in Boy’s Volleyball following their 3 – 0 win over St.Vincent. The country took the second placed position in Netball following their 33 – 29 win over St.Vincent. The country won the boy’s basketball title after beating St.Lucia 59 – 54. 

Dominica takes the Silver medal in Netball at the Windward Islands School Games. On the other hand, Dominica defeated St Lucia 59 – 55 to win the Boy’s Basketball Championship in the Windwards Islands Schools Games 2023. 

Dominica wins Boy’s Volleyball championship at Windward Islands School Games. The Dominica girl’s basketball team secured a crushing 107 points win over St.Vincent this evening, beating them 125 – 18. The Dominican girls were in a no-nonsense mood as they avenged an earlier defeat to St. Vincent in girl’s volleyball.

Sports Division witnessed another successful day for Dominica, Tuesday, at the Windward Islands School Games in Grenada. The Boys started the day with a hard fought win in basketball over host, Grenada.

The Girls went down in Netball to Grenada. However, in the evening the boys had vengeance on their as they took down Grenada in Volleyball, three sets to 0.
