Roseau, Dominica: Roseau Christmas Parade in the Commonwealth of Dominica was postponed due to the high sea swells. Now, the parade will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 5 pm. However, it was scheduled to be taken place on December 16, 2022. 

Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, took to social media and shared an update about the event. She cited that Santa and his delivery helpers were not able to come to the parade due to high sea swells. 

She stated that Santa promised the people of Roseau Central to be with them on December 19 as all is not spoilt. 

Melissa Skerrit noted, “Dear Everyone, Due to circumstances beyond our control Santa and his helpers delivery for the Roseau Christmas Parade are unable to be with us today due to the high sea swells. However, all is not spoilt. They promised to be with us on Monday, December 19, from 5 pm.” 

Melissa Skerrit asked the people to stay tuned for updates. Further, as per her update, Santa’s Mall will remain open at 6 pm today. 

While inviting the citizens of Roseau to attend Santa’s Mall, Melissa Skerrit asserted that this is a time of year when joy and celebration always remain inside the door. She said, “It’s that time of year again. It’s the season for joy, family and celebrations. 

She continued, “Once again, my team and I bring to Roseau Central the Santa’s Mall Roseau Christmas District!! Come with friends and family to bring in the season at Santa’s Mall.” 

Roseau Central’s 2022 Santa’s Mall officially opened on December 9, 2022. With a surprise visit and performance by the Sixth Form Sisserou Singers, the constituency has started off the season splendidly. Melissa Skerrit invited the people and asserted, “So bring friends and family and come on down to the Santa’s Mall on the Roseau Bayfront and enjoy.”

She further said, “Come follow Santa and his helpers on parade to Santa’s Mall. The countdown to Christmas has begun. Dj Entertainment, goodies and more.”

Dominica Meteorological Department stated that the country had witnessed a high-pressure system which could trigger partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy at times, with a few brief showers.
