Once again, the Commonwealth of Dominica has recorded two new COVID-19 virus cases just after few days, the island became COVID-19 free.

The Prime Minister of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit, shared the report of the Ministry of Health, wellness and new health investment via social media.

According to the report, Dominica now has two active COVID-19 cases, so far, a total of 176 people have been recovered from the virus. There were a total of 178 COVID-19 confirmed cases of the mutant on the island.

So far, 19099 individuals have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, where as a total of 13938 individuals have welcomed their second dose of the vaccine.

The report further presents that there is a total zero number of contacts under investigation. A total of 50 individuals have been in GCOD quarantine. There are a total of 975 contacts cleared, and there are a total of 975 contacts identified.

Till now, 15844 people have been tested for the COVID-19 virus, out of which 15666 individuals tested negative for the mutant.

According to the statistics, there are a total of 159,572,593 active COVID-19 virus cases in the world. So far, a total of 138,860,712 people have been recovered from the COVID-19 mutant, and till now, the world reported a total of 3,344,536 deaths due to the virus.

The residents are shocked by the new cases that arrived on the island. Dominica had earlier received 28,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX Facility, which is a global venture between the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations -CEPI, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance Gavi, UNICEF, the Pan American Health Organization -PAHO and the World Health Organization -WHO.

The world is battling the deadly virus, which has also led to an economic crisis globally. COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the economy of the island and mainly on its tourism sector. Its high time that people need to be more careful than before to defeat the virus.
