The Sports Division National Bank of Dominica Ltd Primary Schools boys football competition in the Development Division got of the ground on Thursday 9th February 2023 at three venues.

Roseau, Dominica: The Sports Division National Bank of Dominica Ltd Primary Schools boys football competition in the Development Division got of the ground on Thursday 9th February 2023 at three venues.

In the South/Southwest Zone at Newtown 3 of the 5 expected Schools were present. The Christian Union Primary School topped the Zone with 6 points from two wins in their two games played. Petite Savanne the defending Champion came second with 3 points and the Berean Academy third on zero points.

Over in Portsmouth in the North/North West Zone four of the five schools were present. The Baroness Scotland Primary School topped the Zone with a goal difference of +9 over the Warner Primary School with +4 goal difference, both schools finished with 7 points from two wins and one draw. Penville Primary School came 3rd and Savanne Paille/Clifton Primary in 4th place.

In the East/South East Zone at Castle Bruce three of the four Schools were present. The Morne Jaune Primary Schools secured 1st place with 6 points from two wins from their two games played. Wesley Primary School is in second place with 3 points and the Delices Primary School in third place with no points in Dominica. 

ITSS Boys went down to NECS whilst the girls did not show up for NECS encounter in the Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship, Thursday, at Marigot between NECS and ITSS.

Only the boys game was played.

  • NECS won 3 sets to 0.
  • Set scores: 25 – 17, 25 – 22, 25 – 21.

In the girl’s encounter, NECS won by default over ITSS as the girls from the west coast school did not show up. 

In the Sports Division Secondary Schools Netball match played at Benjamin’s Park between the Dominica State College and the Academix School of Learning, DSC won over ACADEMIX 23 : 13.

  • Scoring for ACADEMIX were Rohena Paul- 8/15

The Sports Division congratulates the member of the new executive of the Salisbury Sports Committee. The new executive was elected earlier this evening at the committee’s AGM.

Sports Officer West, Edmund Audain represented the Sports Division at the the AGM and offered remarks on behalf of the Sports Coordinator in Dominica. 

We wish to commend the sportsmen and women of Salisbury for the mature and responsible way in which they conducted their affairs. We wish the new executive well for the new term and look forward to continue our work in the promotion of grassroots sports.
