Roseau, Dominica: On the auspicious occasion of mother’s day, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended greetings to the mothers across the country. He hailed the mothers with heartfelt messages and blessings on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed, “I extend best wishes to all the mothers of our nation.”
Paying tribute to his mother, Prime Minister Skerrit noted that he celebrated her mother for her strength and their contribution to the families and country as the protectors, providers and caregivers.
He said, “I celebrate and honour you for your strength and for your contribution to our families and country as our protectors, providers and caregivers.”
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit extended gratitude to the mother for their unconditional love. He added, “Thank you for your countless sacrifices and unconditional love.”
PM Skerrit also extended wishes and blessings on behalf of the government. He asserted, “On behalf of the Government of Dominica, I wish you a Blessed and Happy Mother’s Day.”

In addition to that, Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Consititency Melissa Poponne Skerrit expressed her feelings about being a mother.
She noted, “Being a mother means being completely and totally overwhelmed (in the best possible way) by love, joy, responsibility, and selflessness.”
Melissa Skerrit asserted that the day is special for all the courageous, beautiful and hardworking mothers.
She added,” Happy Mother’s Day to all the courageous, beautiful and hardworking mothers. Every day is a celebration of your love and care.”

Besides this, Melissa Skerrit also invited the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, especially mothers, to the event celebrating Mother’s Day.
Melissa Skerrit invited mothers to the event named mothers day celebration at 2 pm. The event was hosted at the City Breeze Apartment. The event has featured food, games and entertainment related programmes. She stated that Roseau Central and Roseau South Moms “We are celebrating You”.
