Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit meets Weaver Prosper- Chief Warrant Officer with US Army
Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, met with Weaver Prosper of Vieille Case, Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Army, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Through his social media, Prime Minister Skerrit, while sharing glimpses of the meeting, expressed pleasure in holding significant talks on various matters of concern. The prime focus of the meeting was renewable energy and outlined its various suitable factors.
Dr Roosevelt Skerrit asserted, “It was a real pleasure to catch up with my old friend Weaver Prosper of Vieille Case, Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Army and an expert on renewable energy.”
Further, PM Roosevelt Skerrit lauded Weaver and his incredible work for the upliftment of the US Army Corps of Engineers. PM Skerrit expressed that he is extremely proud of his achievements.
PM Skerrit wrote, “Weaver has done well for himself as part of the US Army Corps of Engineers, and I am extremely proud of his achievements.”
Further, the meeting also revolved around the geothermal power plant and its construction in Dominica. PM Skerrit outlined that they both shared extensive knowledge on the advancement of Dominica in its geothermal resources and resilient goals.
He added, “I took the opportunity to tap into his extensive knowledge as Dominica advances the development of its geothermal resources.”
The government of Dominica is adamant about fulfilling its climate-resilient aim and working tirelessly to reduce its carbon footprint. While working on the reduction of non-renewable sources, the country has been witnessing the construction of a geothermal power plant that drives the country on the path of renewables. The project will power the houses and reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while simultaneously creating jobs.
Dominica, profoundly known as the nature isle of the Caribbean, is a suitable location for geothermal power plants as it is brimming with hot springs, geysers, and volcanic activity where the Earth is particularly hot just below the surface.
