Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit meets First Lady of USVI- Yolanda Bryan

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, met with the First Lady of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI)- Yolanda Bryan

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, met with the First Lady of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI)- Yolanda Bryan. On Saturday, September 10, 2022, a meeting was held between the two leaders in the office of the prime minister of Dominica. 

Yolanda Bryan was on a goodwill visit to Dominica last week and met the prime minister to talk about several matters of concern related to both countries. 

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, while taking to social media, noted, “It was a distinct pleasure meeting with the First Lady of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), Yolanda Bryan, who was on a goodwill visit to Dominica last week.”

Outlining the support received by USVI, PM Skerrit said that the country always remains a significant friend of Dominica. Various families belonging to Dominica resided on the island for several decades, and they are witnessing huge support from the countrymen and the government. 

In the meeting, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also extended war wishes and regard to her husband and the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands- Albert Byran Jr. He asserted that the country always looked forward to working with the island and the Governor for the next four years. 

He said, “The USVI has been home to many Dominican families spanning several decades. I asked the First Lady to convey my sincere regards and best wishes to her husband, the Governor, and that I look forward to working with him over the next four years.” 

Earlier, Dominica declared two days of national mourning on the demise of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II. In order to pay respect and tribute, the government of Dominica also shared a glimpse of the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to the country. Prime Minister Skerrit also conveyed condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom on the death of the Queen.
