Roseau, Dominica: The Commonwealth of Dominica hosted the “Ole Mas Festival”- Jou Ouve Edition on Saturday, January 21, 2023. The event started at 4 pm and the festival lined the streets of Pointe Michel ending at the popular bar spot Hollywood.

The festival was filled with the rhythm of lapo kabwit and steel pan, sensay, darkies, bacchanal women, and bwa bwa and revellers danced freely, celebrating the culture of Mas Domnik.

Ole Mas festival is BACK for the Jou ouvè edition and people experienced the traditions of Dominica’s Carnival – The Real Mas with lively displays of #colour, #costumes, songs, and dance.

The Carnival of Dominica- The Real Mas is all about colour and costume and people will Celebrate the contemporary side of Dominica with the Fantasy tribe. People can check out their Isle of the Enchanted Collection for Carnival 2023.

Dominica Festivals through its Facebook account shared the glimpses of Ole Mas Festival in which the rich heritage, culture, customs, and values of the Commonwealth of Dominica are displayed. The glimpses depicted the traditional skills of the citizens and residents of the country. The travellers witnessed the display of the rich culture and traditions of the country where they interacted with them and get to know about their ways of doing anything.

Denise Charles- Minister of Tourism added that Lapwent was the place to be this Morning. Ole Mass Festival – Jouvert Edition 2023 and shared glimpses while enjoying the festival with different and unique traditions of Dominica.

Dominica launched the carnival- The Real Mas on Saturday, January 14, 2023, featuring the bold young women for the various pageants, traditional costumes such as Bwa Bwa, Darkies, Sensay, lapo Kabwit, calypsonians, flag wavers, costume bands and revelers from across the island.

Carnival of Dominica is known as the much-awaited event in the country and people can’t miss out on fetes, hotspots, and street jump-ups this Carnival season.
