Roseau, Dominica: Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency is all set to host “Tennis- For Kids” in Dominica. The event will feature free training for the kids in table tennis starting on April 26, 2023.

Melissa Skerrit took to Facebook and invited the children of Roseau to register for the initiative as it will provide them with professional training in the field of table tennis. She has been taking a step toward the enhancement of the sporting skills in the kids and stated that the event will work in three ways, one is by becoming a platform for learning table tennis, the second is by working suitable platform for the well-being of their mental and physical health, while the last one is for providing the fun to the kids so that they could live their childhood at its fullest.

Melissa Skerrit announced that the training will be held on two days a week. The registered kids will have to attend the training every Wednesday and Saturday which will be started on April 26, 2023. On Wednesdays, the training will start at 4 pm, while on Saturdays it will start at 10 am. She also invited the children to register to secure their spots and stated that spots are limited.

She asserted that the initiative is one of the commitments of the government of Dominica in efforts of uplifting the country and its young generation. Melissa Skerrit mentioned that the kids will get proper access to sports while learning professional, personal, and emotional skills. They will enhance their capability to do something and the event will surely make provide them with a new way of lifestyle.

She added, ”Children of the city, let’s have some fun in the sun. Come register today to secure your spot!! Learn from a professional and have some fun! Parents call asap! Spots are limited.”

Melissa Skerrit announced some guidelines for the sporting event which are as follows:

  • The training will be provided by Coach Andrew Carter. He will teach the students every technique and skill needed to enhance their game. He will also show the rules and regulations of the game and make them understand the criteria and the entire strategy of it.
  • The event will be hosted at Stadium Forecourt so kids are invited to come to the stadium.
  • The ages between 7 to 15 are only allowed to participate in sports activities.
  • In order to register for the activity, people will have to visit Roseau Constituency Office in Dominica or they can call 440-4042.
  • Melissa Skerrit announce that they will provide equipment and T-shirts for Tennis to every kid.
