Roseau, Dominica: Dominica Labour Party launched Cozier Frederick from the Salybia constituency for December 6 general elections on Sunday. During the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the voters of the Salybia constituency would vote for Labour and stability.
He cited, “I am saying to the voters of the Salybia constituency that what you are looking for on December 6the is the shoe. Don’t be fooled by the detractors of Labour. You are voting for Labour and stability, or you are risking confusion.”
PM Roosevelt Skerrit said that the nonsense of spoiling their ballot must remind the people of what their fore parents went through to give them that right.
“You cannot say you are not voting because you vex or you didn’t get this or that. The seniors of the UWP stubbornly refused to accept that young people have abilities. Eighteen years ago, they said that the Labour Party sent a boy to do a man’s job and even though the boy has done the job – and I dare say remarkably well, they today told a 38 year old that he’s not ready yet,” said the prime minister.
Further, Cozier Frederick also addressed the people and thanked the prime minister for giving him the opportunity in 2019 to be part of the Dominica Labour Party.
He added, “I’m a bit sad because of the hard work that this team have been doing for the last two and a half years; some people have criticized them and have said a lot of dirty things, and tonight is a shameful thing for anyone who wants to be in the office to form lies and share deceitful information about my colleagues.”
He asserted that the people of the Salybia constituency should vote for Dominica for the fulfilment of their dreams, aspirations and needs.
“I do not want you to take this election lightly as we have an opposition in disguise who is acting like a ghost, so you need to come out in large numbers on December 6 to ensure that the Dominica Labour party gets a full mandate beyond the shadow of any doubt to continue the work that we started,” added Cozier Frederick.
Furthermore, Frederick mentioned that he needs the vote on December 6 to continue to work and that he started to ensure that everyone within that space gets proper housing to continue to build on the infrastructure, road networks and the upcoming multi-purpose emergency shelter.
He vowed that a year from now, the people of the Salybia constituency would see the multi-purpose emergency shelter that would showcase the Kalinago architecture.
“Labour is not just the only choice, but it is the best choice because labour understands development, people’s needs and dreams,” stressed Frederick.
Frederick cited that the people should keep this in mind while voting that DLP is the only government that has ever cared for the people and worked for the upliftment of the livelihoods of the people.
“It is the only government that has ensured that the first people of this country continue to get an equal share, and so we will continue to build our tourism products; we’ll mark these areas as never before we continue to build homes and infrastructure, “said the candidate.
