Roseau, Dominica: Warner Primary School and the Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School are through to the finals of the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools boys football competition in the Development Division. While Morne Jaune Primary Schools captured 3rd place on Friday, 24th March 2023.
In the first Semifinal in Newtown, the Morne Jaune Primary School found it tough going against Jonathan Laurent and the Warner Primary School as they were beaten by five goals to nil.
Jonathan Laurent was the standout player for Warner Primary School, scoring four goals, two goals on either side of the halves. Dellano Morgan scored the other goal for Warner Primary School. Morne Jaune Primary School also played for 3rd place.
Sports Division of Dominica also shared glimpses of the Primary School boys football competition.
In the second Semifinal, also played in Newtown, favourites Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School had to come back from one goal down as they were surprised by an early goal from Yeuri Matos of the Christian Union Primary School. They, however, kept their composure and got the equalizer soon after from the boots of Sherquan Brumant, and dominated the game afterwards.
Sherquan Brumant got a hat trick two goals in the first half and the other in the second half. The 4th goal came courtesy of an own goal. The Christian Union Primary School will now play for 3rd place.The Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School will battle the Warner Primary School in the final.
The Morne Jaune Primary School and the Christian Union Primary School losers of the semifinals matchups played in the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools boys football competition in the Development Division played each other for 3rd place in Newtown on Friday, 24th March 2023.
It was the Morne Jaune Primary School which came out tops with a 3 goals to nil victory to capture 3rd place. One goal each from Myles Samuel, D’ghre Pascal and Elliot PFund was all that was needed.
Morne Jaune Primary School players and support staff were presented with their 3ed place Medals by National Bank of Dominica Ltd Representatives Miss Marianna Lugay.
