Roseau, Dominica: The 12th edition of the Jazz ‘n Creole Festival of Dominica has turned out to be the massive success with the staging of several exciting and colourful events. The events vibrantly showcased the unique blend of culture, values, customs, cuisine and fashion of the Nature Isle.
The 12th edition of Jazz ‘n Creole Festival of Dominica came to life last weekend at Fort Shirley National Park in Portsmouth. The event hosted by the Dominica festivals commission (DFC) took place under the enchanting Rainforest Fantasy theme on April 30 2023. Jazz & Creole 2023 has been deemed a major success with Dominicans and visitors alike heaping praise on the organizers
Jazz and Creole Festival first presented in 2010 intertwines jazz music and the vibrant creole culture and showcases Jazz and Creole artists from around the world. The exciting combination created a festive environment that was once again well received this year.
Jazz ‘n Creole 2023 of Dominica featured performances from Venezuelan Orchestra Octeto Kanaima, American hip-hop Duo Black Violin, Haitian-American singer Phyllissia Ross. Island Jazz Collective featuring Dominican Jazz musicians and country’s own signal band and swinging Stars.
The festival also included cuisine booths, a children’s section with fun-filled activities, fashion displays, modeling segment and an exhibition of Dominica Beast crafts and products. Dominica Festivals and Nathalie Walsh who is Festival and Events Manager also extended thanks to all the partners patrons performers and sponsors who helped make Jazz ‘n Creole 2023 a great success.
