Roseau, Dominica: Grandfond/Morne Jaune combined Primary Schools are Champions of the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division 2023 Primary Schools Girls Football competition. They did so by defeating the Goodwill Primary School by 2 goals to nil on Friday 19th May at Benjamin Park.
After a goalless first half two goals in the second half of play by Brea George and Rickara Prescott gave Grandfond/Morne Jaune Primaries combined a comfortable 2 goals to zero win and the 2023 girls football championship.
Sports Division of Dominica took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the Boys Football Championships. Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School are the new Champions of the Development Division in the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division 2023 Primary Schools Boys Football competition.
The final was played on Friday 19th May 2023 at Benjamin Park.They did so by defeating the Warner Primary School 2 goals to 1 in the second half of the 10 minutes extra time after scores were tied at 1 all at the end of regulation time.
Yahvelljen Thomas opened the scoring for Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School with a goal in the first half for a 1 nil lead at the half. Jordan Laurent equalizer for Warner Primary in the second half to send the game into 10 minutes extra time.
Sherquan Brumant got the winner for Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School in the second half of extra time with a strike from just outside the box which found the bottom right corner to secure the championship by 2 goals to 1.
National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools Football Championship was started on Friday 19th May 2023. Three Finals were held on one day Benjamin Park Portsmouth that’s the place to be.
- 1:00pm in the Boys Development Division Warner Primary School challenges the Baroness Patricia Scotland Primary School.
- 2:00pm in the Girls Division Goodwill Primary School and Grandfond/Morne Jaune Primaries combined will lock horns.
- And at 3pm the Big One boys Division One Championship the Roosevelt Douglas Primary will Battle the St. Luke’s Primary School.
Sports Division stated, “School come out in large numbers to support your teams it’s going to be a blast dont miss it.”
