Dominica: In order to uplift the country’s housing and urban development sector, the government of Dominica is tirelessly working to create several housing initiatives nationwide.

The housing revolution project aimed to provide a decent home to the families of Dominica exemplifies a ray of hope in developing sustainable and resilient housing communities. The project was significantly funded by the fund raised through the Citizenship by Investment Programme.

Various key partners and stakeholders have contributed significantly to several projects such as Scotts Head, Eggleston and Canefield and boosted the work of construction. While bolstering the housing revolution project, the new project named Grand Bay Ville is contributing incredibly.

The brand-new integrated community of Ville is assisted by MMC Development Ltd.

Known as groundbreaking, contemporary, master planner concept, the completion of the Grand Bay Ville housing Development will provide breathtaking views with 100 standalone houses.

In addition to that, the project will also consist of 29 empty plots for future constructions and more than ten houses for complete renovation and modernization.

The housing units will feature various facilities which complete every requirement of the resilient aim. It will have three bedrooms, two toilets and baths, a kitchen, a dining area, a living room, a laundry area, and a porch.

Besides all these splendid features, the unit will comprise basic amenities and exceptionally crafted homes with spellbound views. The facilities such as the commercial square consisting of 22 shops, a gas station, a magistrate house, a regional fire station, a community centre, and a church will welcome the people.

Beneficiaries will also access sports with the facilities such as basketball courts, recreational spaces, and pocket parks.

The government has also decided to provide a renovated and modernized police station which will offer 24/7 services to the public to ensure the community’s safety and maintenance of law and order.

By following all the standards of the highest resiliency, the substructures and superstructures of the unit will be featured reinforced concrete, shatter-proof windows, and underground utilities to combat adverse weather and natural disasters.

The project will be turned out as a great model of the climate resilient homes for the entire Caribbean region as it will provide homes to residents affected and displaced by Hurricane Maria that hit the country in 2017.
