Dominica Grammar School becomes U20 Secondary Schools Football Champions

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica Grammar School has captured their first of a possible 4 Championship in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship on Friday, 1st February 2023, at Benjamin Park in the U20 Division.

Sports Division of Dominica took to Facebook and announced the results of the Secondary Schools Football Championship. Behind the player of the match performance by young Chance Marshall with 1 goal and a Hat trick from Malachi Labad, the Dominica Grammar School whipped the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School by seven goals to 2. Captain Malachi Bonney also got a brace (2 goals), and an own goal by an Isaiah Thomas Secondary School defender completed the scoring for Dominica Grammar School.

Phillip Mathew and Evensly Estevren scored one goal each for the runners up Isaiah Thomas Secondary School

Two volleyball games in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Championship were played today at the DSC grounds;

• Game 1: DSC vs Orion(girls)
• DSC won 3 – 0
• Sets; 25:13, 25:7, 25:19
• Game 2: DSC vs Orion ( boys)
• DSC won 3 – 0
• Sets; 25:17, 25:17, 25:5

There will be six volleyball matches on Thursday 2nd at three venues.

• 2:00: PCSS vs CHS (girls)
• 3:30: PCSS vs SMA(boys)
• At DSC grounds
• 2:00: DSC vs DGS(girls)
• 3:30: DSC vs DGS (boys)
• At Portsmouth
• 2:00: PSS vs NECS (girls)
• 3:30: PSS vs NECS (boys)

The National Bank of Dominica Sports Division Primary Schools boys football championship continues today in the Boy’s Division One. In the South East Zone in Castle Bruce, the Sineku Primary School, the reigning defending Champion, will start their defense to the title against the Grandfond, San Sauveur, Jones Beaupierre and the Castle Bruce Primary Schoolsy6 from 11 am.

In the East Zone at Londonderry from 11:00 am the Will Stratmore Stevens Primary, Atkinson Primary, Calibishie and Woodford Hill Primary will battle each other. Meanwhile, Over at Newtown, in the South/ Southwest Zone, Grandbay Primary, St. Luke’s Primary, Newtown Primary, Bellevue Primary and Soufriere Primary will challenge each other from 11:00 am.
