Roseau, Dominica: Four Schools have already booked their places in the Quarterfinals of the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools boys Division One Football competition on Tuesday 14th, March 2023, from the Intermediate Round.
From Zone A at Benjamin Park, the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School topped the Zone qualifying in first place with 9 points from 3 wins in their three games played, scoring 14 goals in the process.
Grandbay Primary School captured the second qualifying spot with 4 points from 1 win, one draw and one loss. Salisbury Primary came 3rd on 3 points and Calibishie Primary on 0 point for 4th place.
In Zone B in Lindo Park Goodwill the Saint Mary’s Primary School qualified in first place with a maximum of 9 points from 3 wins in their three games played, scoring seven goals.
Kelleb Laurent Primary captured the 2nd qualifying spot with 6 points from 2 wins and one lost from their three games. Jones Beaupierre came 3rd with 3 points from 1 win and two defeats and in 4th place is the Colihaut/Dublanc/Coulibistrie combined Schools with 0 point.
Roosevelt Douglas Primary, Grandbay Primary, Saint Mary’s Primary and Kelleb Laurent Primary are through to the Quarter finals stage. Four more schools will have the opportunity to qualify on Wednesday, 15th March 2023. The top two schools from Zone C in Lindo Park and Zone D in Castle Bruce will complete the quarterfinals match ups. Both Zones begins at 11 am.
Earlier, the Sports Division of Dominica used to host such events and matches in order to encourage the athletes of the country. Earlier, the Sports Division hosted the 2023 Sports Division Secondary Schools Under 20 Cricket Championship, which has now reached its final matches.
Along with that, Netball, Football and Volleyball are also being played in Dominica. On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Sports Division will host the match between the two teams which are as follows:
