Dominica: Four schools qualify for semifinals of Primary Schools boys Football Competition

 Four Schools have qualified for the Semifinals of the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools boys Football Competition in Division One from the Quarterfinals held on Tuesday, 28th March 2023.

Roseau, Dominica: Four Schools have qualified for the Semifinals of the National Bank of Dominica Ltd Sports Division Primary Schools boys Football Competition in Division One from the Quarterfinals held on Tuesday, 28th March 2023.

In Portsmouth, Roosevelt Douglas Primary School defeated the Sineku Primary School by two goals to 0, and Ezekel Brumant scored both goals for RDPS.

In Castle Bruce the Castle Bruce Primary School narrowly defeated the Kelleb Laurent Primary School by three goals to 2. Roqson Coipel scored two goals and Jedidiah Benjamin 1 scored for the Castle Bruce Primary. Jahiem Ravalier scored both goals for Kelleb Laurent Primary.

In a double header at Newtown in game 1 the Saint Mary’s Primary defeated the W S Steven’s Primary School by 3 goals to 1. Lemarie Frederick, Che Etienne and Zane Thomas scored 1 goal each for SMP. Rico Warner jr scored the lone goal for WS Steven’s Primary.

In game 2, St. Luke’s Primary School shootout the Grandbay Primary School by four goals to nil. Zael Joseph got a brace (2 goals), and Carligue Prevost and Aaden Louisy got one goal each for St. Luke’s.

Sports Division of Dominica is used to host such events and sports matches to encourage the athletes of the country. Earlier, The Dominica Grammar School topped both categories in the Secondary Schools Athletics Championship, which ended on Friday.

DGS amassed a total of 280.5 points in the Boys Division. In 2nd place was Portsmouth Secondary with 187.5, in 3rd place Isaiah Thomas Secondary on 182.5 points, in 4th place NECS with 175 points and CBSS in 5th place with 115points.

DGS totalled 299 points in the girl’s division followed by ITSS (223.5), PCSS (104),NECS (97), and CBSS (93). Alianne George of the DGS who competed in the U21 girls category was the top female athlete with 34 points. The two top male athletes each scored 30 points; Mikael Anthony of the DGS and Addison James of the NECS. Both competed in the U17 Division.
