Dominica Festivals invites local stakeholders to annual sponsors cocktail for Carnival

The Dominica Festivals and Discover Dominica Authority invited various local private sector stakeholders to the annual Sponsors cocktail for Queen Show, Carnival, and the various events in Dominica.

Roseau, Dominica: The Dominica Festivals and Discover Dominica Authority invited various local private sector stakeholders to the annual Sponsors cocktail for Queen Show, Carnival, and the various events in the country. 

The cocktail featured the official rum of Mas Domnik 2023 – BB Rum by Belfast Estate. Each 2023 Queen contestant presented their BB cocktail, elevating this local rum to new flavours.

Additionally, the cocktail provided opportunities for the tourism sector and various private sector stakeholders to mingle and discuss possible partnerships to build the festival and tourism experience for locals and travellers to Dominica.

Featured speakers included the Minister for Tourism Denise Charles, Events Assistant at DFC Kerwin Jno Baptiste, Destination Marketing Manager at DDA Kimberly King, and Yvor Nassief of Belfast Estate Limited.

The Carnival- The Real Mas 2023 was launched on January 14, 2023. It is the perfect platform to showcase the authentic culture, vibrant traditions, customs and values of the Nature Isle of the Caribbean with its different and unique events such as Miss Dominica Teen Pageant 2023, Dominica Carnival Princess Show 2023, Junior Calypso Monarch and many more. 

Last Saturday, Contestant #1 for Miss Dominica 2023 officially launched in her communities. As part of the Mahaut Village Carnival, Meeya Francis sponsored by De Construction Solutions/Convenience Plus paraded through the village with cultural displays by bwa bwa, sensay, bacchanal women, and the Mahaut Bouyon Lapo Kabwit and featured our very own bouyon band Signal Band. 

The ceremony highlighted Meeya and her journey to joining the Miss Dominica pageant with remarks by the Honorable Cassani Laville, her sponsors De Construction Solutions/Convenience Plus, and support from her fellow contestants.

On Sunday, Dominica Festivals officially launched Contestant #2 Adicia Burton and Miss Petro Caribe 2023, in the Kalinago Territory. 

Adicia paraded through each hamlet of the Kalinago territory to invite her community to support her on the journey to the throne. The parade also featured a cultural Kalinago display.

The launch ceremony highlighted Adicia’s story with remarks by Cozier Frederick and the Kalinago Chief Lorenzo Standford, with support from her sponsors Petro Caribe and her fellow queen contestants.

The Miss Dominica Carnival Queen Pageant returns for 2023. Dominica Festivals asked people to come and experience the class and talents of the five contestants as they vie for the throne.
