Roseau, Dominica: Minister for Health, Wellness and New Health Investment of Dominica- Dr Irving McIntyre shared an update on the Small Business One-stop shop and training certificate ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiative.
Through his social media, Dr McIntyre stated that in order to strengthen the Small Business industries, the country has launched a new initiative dubbed “The Small Business One Stop.” The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiative of Dominica launched the new programme on Friday, August 12, 2022.
He noted, “Today, The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiative, through the Small Business Support Unit, launched its newest initiative, “The Small Business One Stop”.
Outlining the significance of the small business units, Minister McIntrye asserted that the new initiatives called Small Business One Stop Shop will be proved as a great assistance for the micro and small businesses which drives the significance development of the economic spheres of the country.
He added that in a nutshell, the Small Business One Stop Shop provides a convenient, easy and professional service to micro and small businesses; this includes grant funding, business registration, fiscal incentives, information on permits, licence certification, business plan advice and counselling, guidance and hand-holding support. All of these services are in one convenient location.
In the ceremony, various small businesses received certificates for participating in the Small Business Grant Training Workshop. In addition, a number of small business grant beneficiaries received certificates for participating in the Small Business Grant Training Workshop – a pre-requisite to receiving financial assistance.
Various kinds of small businesses have emerged in the country, resulting in the upliftment of the small business units in Dominica.
Seventeen (17) small businesses from the Roseau Valley formed part of this ceremony today, including Definition Fitness Gym, Lachiem Touch, Mills Variety Touch, Cafe Mon Plezi, JD Management Data Solution, Caribbean Core Fitness, Donny’s Snorkel Center and Infinity Nails.
