Dominica: Dr Irving McIntyre meets Sang Ryul Lee- Ambassador of Republic of Korea 

Ag. Prime Minister Dr Irving McIntyre welcomed Sang Ryul Lee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Dominica, for a courtesy call on Friday.

Roseau, Dominica: Ag. Prime Minister Dr Irving McIntyre welcomed Sang Ryul Lee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Dominica, for a courtesy call on Friday.

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on his Facebook post, shared glimpses of the meeting. The meeting featured a discussion of several matters of concern in strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. They discussed a number of global issues as well as potential areas of cooperation between Dominica and South Korea.

The Republic of Korea and Dominica shared cordial bilateral ties with each other. The government of the Republic of Korea has assisted Dominica over the years in several areas of cooperation. Dr Irving McIntyre and Sang Ryul Lee also highlighted the relations between the two countries and stated that the ties will be further enhanced with innovative plans. 

Over the years, the Government of Korea has provided assistance to the government of Dominica, which included vehicles for several Government departments. Additionally, three protocol vehicles were also gifted from Korea in 2013. 

They also focused on ways for continued cooperation between the two countries on issues of mutual interest. They exchanged views on several matters of concern and plans to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the areas of economy and development, global affairs, issues of small island nations and climate change. 

The meeting also marked an opportunity for the two countries to reaffirm the friendly relations between two countries and their willingness to pursue mutually-beneficial cooperation through discussions on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. 

The bond of friendship between Dominica and the Republic of Korea was highlighted during the meeting. 

Dominica shared friendly relations with foreign countries. Recently, PM Roosevelt Skerrit attended the US-Caribbean Leaders meeting in the Bahamas. During the meeting, he met with US Vice President Kamala Harris and talked about several mutual interests, such as innovation, climate change, security issues and education.
