Dominica: DOWASCO shares update on communities with interruption due to flash flooding

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica Water and Sewerage Company Limited took to social media and shared an update on the communities with water interruption due to the flash flooding. 

DOWASCO informed the consumers that due to heavy rains and flash flooding over the weekend, there is water interruption in the following areas:

  • MORNE JAUNE
  • RIVIERE CYRIQUE
  • LA PLAINE
  • CASTLE BRUCE
  • GRAND FOND
  • SAN SAUVEUR
  • MOPO, TRONTO, DIX PAS
  • GOOD HOPE
  • PETITE SOUFRIERE
  • GAULLET RIVER

Heavy rains, flash flooding, and landslides have resulted in blockage at intakes and the washing away of several lengths of pipelines in these areas. DOWASCO has mobilized staff to assess the damage; however, access is restricted in many areas.

DOWASCO will continue to update their consumers on the progress of work in these areas, and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

DOWASCO apologizes to customers in NORTH END, CONCORD, BATACA, ANTRIZZLE and MONKEY HILL for the unscheduled interruption to their water supply.

This interruption is due to blockage of the water intake and landslides at the Crapaud Hall Water System as a result of heavy rains over the weekend. Crapaud Hall remains inaccessible at this time. They will continue to keep consumers updated on this matter.

DOWASCO regrets the inconvenience and thanks customers, for their cooperation and understanding during this time.

DOWASCO apologizes to customers in DELICES for the unscheduled interruption to their water supply. This interruption is due to a power outage in the area as a result of heavy rains over the weekend. DOWASCO pump station, therefore, is currently not operational. They will keep residents updated on this matter. DOWASCO regrets the inconvenience and thanks, customers for their cooperation and understanding during this time.

There are unscheduled interruptions to their water supply in various regions such as BAGATELLE, FOND ST. JEAN, STOWE, MORNE PROSPER and POINTE CARIB. This interruption is due to heavy rain causing blockage at the intake.
