Roseau, Dominica: Minister of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives of Dominica and member of Parliament of Soufriere Constituency- Denise Charles, shared an update on the rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Playing Field. The field plays an essential role in strengthening and reviving sports and other community activities.

 Through her social media post, Minister Charles outlined the significance of the project and stated that the work is progressing steadily. She exclaimed the citizens of the constituency would witness the opening of the field soon.

The Rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Playing Field has been signed with Home and Garden Solution! This is a very important project for the revival of sports and other community activities.

The project will be supervised by the Soufriere, Scott’s Head, and Gallion Village Council.” 

She emphasized that the renovation of the Brooklyn Playing Field has always been a priority. Minister Charles also explained the series of activities that are being undertaken under the project, which paved the path for the completion of the project.  

She outlined that the first stage was the clearing of debris on the field. Funds were already committed to the Soufriere, Scott’s Head, and Gallion Village Council since January, but negotiations were only recently completed with Home & Garden Solutions to undertake the project.

In addition to that, Denise Charles asserted that the project plays an important in strengthening the sports activities in the country as it will assist the players in practising on the field.

Denise Charles also expressed gratitude to the residents of the constituency for their patients and huge contributions to the project. She underlined, “We thank you for your patience and look forward to your cooperation when work actually commences. Thank God, despite the challenges caused by COVID, we can still fulfil our plans, Brick By Brick.”  

She also looks forward to the cooperation of the residents over the next two months.
