Dominica: DA Sports Vybez commits to uplift women in Football, know deets

Roseau, Dominica: In order to uplift the women in Football in the Commonwealth of Dominica, DA Sports Vybez consider some of the best coaches across the globe to teach them the sports for international tournaments.

ALBERT WANG TITRE from DA Sports Vybez issued the statement on Women in Football:

The state of women’s Football in Dominica does not just rest on the Dominica Football Association but a number of top coaches and people they consider “some of the best coaches”.

It’s imperative to praise people. I’m one who believe that we should honor people for their work but for us to improve we also have to give constructive critics.

One of the biggest let downs is the Goodwill Runners Team.

Subject to correction, Goodwill have won over 15 Championships and have totally dominated Football in Dominica.

Once a lady think of Football is Goodwill because this is the capital of Football. Today, Goodwill should have the biggest women’s football academy in Dominica and the region.

This team’s players used to dominate the national teams. They always have made up a high percentage of the national team. With a community that dominates a sport that was developing, they had to help build the foundation for the future.

MOVING FORWARD

I commend the DFA on the growing women’s football program.

We are seeing more ladies coming on board and teams are forming in the different communities.

The senior players must branch and challenge themselves. Our national womens teams could have more success but the majority of players who made up the national team are on one team, what kind of challenges they can get.

Harlem started with three players who really knew the game… Alijah, Naima and Keanna. All the other ladies were built around them and they themselves blossom and some even made the national teams.

Then other players came in every now and then. Players and coaches need to challenge themselves and when that happen, our national team will improve.

I do believe that the ladies are hungry to play. The DFA must also have a proper schedule plan for women’s Football. It doesn’t take much to have competitions.

Harlem/NJFA together with 767 Sports club used to always plan activities for the ladies. The need of a constant league.

We also need to find ways to market our ladies. They need to get to the US Colleges, play with other Athletes to improve their standard.

We can rise.
