Roseau, Dominica: Castle Bruce Secondary School defeated Saint Mary’s Academy by three goals to 1 in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in Dominica.
The 13 and Under division in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship got off the ground on Tuesday, January 10 2023, with a doubleheader on the Newtown Savannah.
In game one, the Castle Bruce Secondary School defeated Saint Mary’s Academy by three goals to 1. Taran George scored two goals, and Nikaeyel Laurent 1 for the Castle Bruce Secondary School.
Eion Oscar scored the lone goal for the Saint Mary’s Academy from the penalty spot. In the second game, the Dominica Grammar School got the better of the Pierre Charles Secondary School by four goals to nil.
Micah Ettienne and Jayan Lockhart score one goal each and two own goals by Pierre Charles. Secondary defenders completed the scoring for Dominica Grammar School.

Scoring for Dominica Grammar School were Malachi Labad with 2 goals , Jahmo Talbert, Dale Xavier,Yawani Regis and Ajani Richards with 1 goal each.
Meanwhile, over in Portsmouth, the Portsmouth Secondary School were shocked by the North East Comprehensive School in the second half as they surrendered a 4 goals lead to the North East Comprehensive School in the U20 Division. They had to settle for a 4-4 draw as the North East Comprehensive School staged an impressive comeback.
Scorers for Portsmouth Secondary School were Omarion Brumant, Terry Gilbert, Jeriah Lewis and Tyler George. Ronny Lockhart with 2 goals, Tyrese Carbon and Mervin Mingo one each gave North East Comprehensive a well-deserved point.
