The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives of the Commonwealth of Dominica announced the revised protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic to travel to the country.

Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives of the Commonwealth of Dominica announced the revised protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic to travel to the country. They declared the new amendments to protocols for entry into the Commonwealth of Dominica. 

While revising the COVID-19 protocols for visitors, the Ministry of Tourism announced that unvaccinated travellers no longer have to go for pre-arrival testing, and there will be testing requirements for symptomatic travellers as well. 

Please be advised that Cabinet advised approval of the following protocols for entry into the Commonwealth of Dominica:

1. Removal of pre-arrival testing for unvaccinated travellers.

2. Removal of testing on arrival for symptomatic travellers

3. Maintaining pre-existing International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 Port Health procedures. 

The ministry asserted that there should be the maintenance of the pre-existing International Health Regulation (IHR) 2005 Port Health procedures. 

COVID-19 in Dominica

As of June 20, 2022, the number of cases of the COVID-19 pandemic was 21. The country has also witnessed a rise in the number of patients who get discharged from the hospitals. The number stood at 74. 

On the same day, the number of active cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Commonwealth of Dominica stood at 230. The update from the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and new health investment stated that since the pandemic emerged in the country, a total of 67 deaths have been reported due to viral infection.

A total of 14524 people have been recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. 

The number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 pandemic stood at 14821. 

The Health Ministry of Dominica stated that the number of tests conducted stated that 209803. Out of the total tests, a total of 37954 tests have been processed by the PCR; on the other hand, a total of 171849 tests have been processed by the antigen. 

As per the vaccination statics in Dominica, the number of people who have been administered the ist dose of the vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic is 32865.

On the other hand, the number of people who have been administered the second dose of the vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic is 30463.
