Roseau, Dominica: Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, shared the update on the International Boxing match. The Dominica boxing, in conjunction with Caribbean Boxing Association and the American boxing confederation, presented the International Boxing Match. 

The match will be held from December 13, 2022, to December 17, 2022. The match will be taken place at Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The government of the Commonwealth of Dominica will host the Boxing match and organize the live match. 

Melissa Skerrit also asked the people to attend the match. Windsor Park Sports Stadium on December 13th-17th, 2022, to witness 23 teams go ‘pound for pound’ as they battle to win the international boxing championship. 

She took to social media and wrote, “Let’s get ready to rumble! Come on down to the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on December 13th-17th, 2022, to witness 23 teams go ‘pound for pound’ as they battle to win the international boxing championship! You cannot afford to miss this spectacular event.”

The government of Dominica has been working efficiently for the upliftment of the sports sector. It also works to encourage the young generation in the field of Sports. 

Dominic also welcomed cricket T20 tournament matches at the Windsor Park Stadium, located in the capital city of Roseau. The international cricket matches were between Bangladesh and West Indies. The government of Dominica has also commissioned Multipurpose Indoor Sports Facility in Mahaut. The constituency gave one of the players in the field of basketball, cricket and football. 

The facility has been launched with an aim to encourage youth sports involvement, and the project costs around 2.5 million dollars. The sports complex consisted a seating capacity of more than 500, and the seats are totally movable.

 The government of Dominica has announced to provide Thea Lafond with a monetary award of $200 000 in recognition of her medal-winning performances at the Commonwealth games and the NACAC Senior Championships. 

Lafond gained a silver medal earlier this month at the Commonwealth Games in Women’s Triple Jump and followed this performance with a gold medal at NACAC championships this past weekend.
