Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister- Dr Ernest Hilaire extended warm greetings to Saint Lucia’s 2022 Calypso Monarch, Dezral. He attended Calypso Monarch Finals 2022 on June 8, 2022 (Friday) in the Lucian Carnival.
Ernest Hilaire applauded Dezral for having great potential and called him a zealous young man. He noted, “Congratulations to Saint Lucia’s 2022 Calypso Monarch, Dezral. Let me just say how proud I am to see that our Calypso Monarch is such a zealous young man with great potential and “pep”.”
Further, Dr Hiliare also praised other contestants for their exceptional performance on the last night against the Calypso greats of Saint Lucia.
“I am also proud of the many other young people like the Mighty Sizzler, Jurgen, De Generator, Oshun and Ready who competed last night against the Calypso greats of Saint Lucia. I feel that it is safe to say that Calypso is in good hands,” he underlined.

Dr Ernest Hilaire attended the music event and called it another fantastic event. He added that the music, the crowd and the vibe were excellent.
He asserted, “As usual, there is always more bacchanal than just the Mas! At the end of the night, the Judges crowned Ricky T and Fross as Groovy and Power Soca Monarchs. Congratulations”
Dr Ernest Hilaire had the honour, together with the Carnival Queen, to present the trophies to the winners. Of course, Ricky T is from Castries South.
