CSG Patricia Scotland visits Gabon, attends commemoration of its 62nd Independence

Patricia Scotland- sixth and the first lady Secretary General of the Commonwealth, attended the commemoration of the 62nd Anniversary of the Independence of Gabon. With the warm and heartfelt message, she wished the government and the people on their special occasion.

Patricia Scotland- sixth and the first lady Secretary General of the Commonwealth, attended the commemoration of the 62nd Anniversary of the Independence of Gabon. With the warm and heartfelt message, she wished the government and the people on their special occasion.

Gabon is newly added to the Commonwealth family and has become its 55th-member country.

While expressing pleasure in participating in the celebration of the independence of Gabon, CSG Scotland took to social media and noted, “It was a great honour to attend the spectacular commemoration of the 62nd Anniversary of the Independence of Gabon.”

She wishes the country and its people on this occasion on behalf of the Commonwealth family and asserted, “On behalf of The Commonwealth family, I’d like to send heartfelt congratulations to the People and Government of Gabon on this occasion.”

Patricia Scotland is on her four-day visit to Gabon and arrived in Libreville on August 16, 2022. She called Gabon her new home and was welcomed by Michael Moussa Adamo, Aicha Sanni, Ambassador of Gabon to the United Kingdom, and High Commissioners from Nigeria, Cameroon and Togo. It is her first official visit to the newly added member of the Commonwealth.

She asserted that she always looks forward to building long-lasting diplomatic ties and partnerships with Gabon. With her warm word, CSG Scotland welcomes Gabon to the Commonwealth Family.

CSG stated,” Fantastic welcome to my new home, Gabon, by Michael Moussa Adamo, Aicha Sanni, Ambassador of Gabon to the United Kingdom, and High Commissioners from Nigeria, Cameroon and Togo, on my first official visit. I look forward to building long-lasting partnerships and collaborations as we welcome Gabon to The Commonwealth family.”

During her visit to Gabon, she will be indulged in numerous activities such as diplomatic meetings, which include the meeting with the President of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba, and other senior government officials.
