CSG Patricia Scotland shares glimpse of 10th CSMM in Birmingham ahead of Commonwealth games
Patricia Scotland- a sixth and first lady Secretary General of the Commonwealth, shared a glimpse of the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting. She also extended greetings to the Commonwealth Ministers to attend the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting (CSMM) in Birmingham. The meeting was hosted on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
In the meeting, every member state of the Commonwealth has shown their appearance. CSG Patricia Scotland expressed pleasure and joy at the fact that this was the first meeting since the Commonwealth family grew from 54 to 56 nations.
Through her social media, CSG Patricia Scotland noted, “Wonderful to welcome everyone to the 10th #Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting (#CSMM) in Birmingham today – the first meeting of ministers since our family grew from 54 to 56 nations.”
The meeting was taken place ahead of the opening of the Commonwealth Games, scheduled to be held on July 28, 2022. The Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. Started in 1930, the event has continuously taken place every four since then.
Various countries such as the Caribbean regions, including Grenada, Saint Lucia and many more, are all set to participate in the Commonwealth Games.
Outlining the significance of sports, CSG Patricia Scotland stated that Sport is a shaping force in our societies, with the power to move, motivate and inspire.
She further stated that Sport has huge potential to inspire, prompt inclusive development and change lives across the #Commonwealth.
Earlier, CSG Patricia Scotland also expressed pleasure to welcome Commonwealth Ministers to Birmingham before the hosting of the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting.
CSG Patricia Scotland added, “A pleasure to welcome Commonwealth Ministers to Birmingham this evening, ahead of the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting (#CSMM) tomorrow.”
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, profoundly known as the XXII Commonwealth Games, is an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth. It is also known as Birmingham 2022 and is scheduled to be held in England from July 28 to August 8 2022.
