CSG Patricia Scotland meets Mauritius President- Prithvirajsing Roopun

Patricia Scotland- the sixth and first lady of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, met with Prithvirajsing Roopun- President of Mauritius. She discussed different matters of concern, such as Climate change and issues related to it.

Patricia Scotland- the sixth and first lady of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, met with Prithvirajsing Roopun- President of Mauritius. She discussed different matters of concern, such as Climate change and issues related to it.

The meeting was held after CSG Patricia Scotland visited Mauritius for the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub Meeting. Climate Change is a global issue, and the meeting was held to address the issues faced by the small and developing countries, especially the Commonwealth countries.

Patricia Scotland outlined the role of the Commonwealth countries and the significance of the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub. She also stressed that the countries should take actions and initiatives to respond to natural calamities efficiently.

Through her social media, Patricia Scotland noted, “It was wonderful to meet with H.E. Prithvirajsing Roopun, President of Mauritius.”

She further highlighted that they spoke about the important role of the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub. Patricia Scotland extended gratitude to the President for the successful hosting of the Hub in Commonwealth climate action initiatives and CHOGM 2022.

CSG Patricia Scotland also held an interactive engagement with Ministers in Mauritius. Their meeting featured various significant discussions on matters related to Climate, Sport, Youth, Education, Gender, Finance and Tourism.

Patricia Scotland stated, “Important discussions with Ministers in Mauritius on the issues facing our Commonwealth family on Climate, Sport, Youth, Education, Gender, Finance and Tourism.”

She stressed that she is eagerly looking forward to sharing best practices and knowledge, not just from the Secretariat but from the entire Commonwealth family.
