CSG Patricia Scotland meets King Mswati III in London

Patricia Scotland- the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, met with the King of Eswatini and the head of the Swazi royal family- Mswati III, in London and held cordial discussions with each other.

Patricia Scotland– the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, met with the King of Eswatini and the head of the Swazi royal family- Mswati III, in London and held cordial discussions with each other. The prime focus of the meeting was to outline ways for youth capacity building and good governance. 

CSG Patricia Scotland took to social media and shared glimpses of the meeting. She also extended her full support to the government in their agendas for the development of Eswatini. The meeting featured a discussion on various matters of concern related to strengthening the relations between Commonwealth countries with efficient plans. 

She also discussed several parameters of the upcoming elections in Eswatini with King. CSG Scotland added, “His Majesty King Mswati III joined me in London to discuss how The Commonwealth could support good governance and youth capacity building as well as upcoming elections in Eswatini, as we continue to work together as a united Commonwealth family.” 

Along with that, CSG Patricia Scotland also shared glimpses of her meeting with Mohammed B S Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia. She discussed several key issues with the Vice President and outlined ways to improve these problems. The main highlights of the meeting were: 

  • Climate Change
  • E-governance
  • Courts Digitisation
  • Implementation of a Truth
  • Reconciliation and Reparations Commission white paper

While expressing pleasure in meeting with Gambia VP, CSG Scotland cited, “Great to meet HE Mohammed B S Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia yesterday, to discuss how The Commonwealth can support on climate change, e-governance, courts digitisation, and the implementation of a Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission white paper.”

Besides this, the meeting with King Letsie III- Kingdom of Lesotho also added to the series of interactions of CSG Patricia Scotland. She also extended support to Lesotho in its attempts to transform into a smart and digital country. She also discussed the country’s efforts in matters such as Blue Charter, parliamentarian training and their participation in COP 28.
