CSG Patricia Scotland meets athletes in 2022 Commonwealth Games, presents medals

Through her social media, CSG Patricia Scotland shared a glimpse of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also expressed the pleasure of meeting many athletes from around the Commonwealth. 

Patricia Scotland- sixth and first lady Secretary General of the Commonwealth, attended the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and presented medals to the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle and countless change makers and volunteers. 

Through her social media, CSG Patricia Scotland shared a glimpse of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also expressed the pleasure of meeting many athletes from around the Commonwealth. 

CSG Scotland noted, “What an incredible few days at the 2022 #Commonwealth Games. I had the privilege to meet many athletes from around the #Commonwealth, award medals for the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle and countless change makers and volunteers.” 

She also felt honoured to visit the multi-faith area and Pride House at the Games. CSG Patricia Scotland added, “I also had the opportunity to visit the multi-faith area and Pride House at the Games.” 

Further, referring to strong efforts to highlight the diversity within the Commonwealth, CSG Patricia Scotland asserted that she is very happy to see Birmingham 2022 so inclusive. 

“It is wonderful to see strong efforts to highlight the diversity within the Commonwealth and make #Birmingham 2022 so inclusive, “said the CSG.

Commonwealth Games have begun in Birmingham with an official opening ceremony where every commonwealth country participated. It started on Thursday, June 28, 2022, and will be concluding on Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, United Kingdom. 

As per the new medal tally, here is the list of the ranking of the top ten teams in the Commonwealth Sports Games 2022: 

  • Australia Gold (22), Silver (13), Bronze (17)- Total medals- 52
  • England- Gold (11) Silver (16) Bronze (7) Total-34
  • New Zealand- Gold (10) Silver (16) Bronze (4) Total-19
  • South Africa- Gold (4) Silver (1) Bronze (1) Total-6
  • Canada- Gold (3) Silver (6) Bronze (9) Total-18
  • India– Gold (3) Silver (2) Bronze (1) Total-6
  • Scotland- Gold (2) Silver (7) Bronze (8) Total-17
  • Malaysia- Gold (2) Silver (1) Bronze (1) Total-4
  • Nigeria- Gold (2) Bronze (1) Total-3
  • Wales- Gold (1) Silver (2) Bronze (6) Total-9
