Commonwealth: Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Patricia Scotland extended deep condolences on the assassination of former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. 

She took to Twitter and expressed her condolences to his loved ones and to the people of Japan. Patricia Scotland extended deep sympathies to the people of Japan at this tragic time

CSG Patricia Scotland stated that Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe was a dedicated servant of the people and always worked for the welfare of the country with his incredible leadership. 

Through her social media, Patricia Scotland noted, “Deeply shocking and sad to see the news of the passing of Shinzo Abe. He was a dedicated servant of the people, and my deepest sympathies and condolences go to his family and to the people of Japan at this tragic time.”

Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was shot to death on Friday when he was attending a campaign event in the western area of the country. In the hospital, he was confirmed dead. 

The senior Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) asserted that former prime minister Shinzo Abe took his last breath at a hospital in Kashihara city, Nara region. He was admitted to the hospital to receive medical treatment

The spokesperson from Japan asserted that a 41-year-old man who shot Shinzo Abe was arrested. As per the local media, the suspect had also remained a navy worker and the self-defence force of Japan in 2005. The suspect said that he was disappointed with Abe and intended to kill him. 

The sudden shooting attack has created shock across the country that contains the world’s strictest gun control laws. Reportedly, the shooter used a homemade gun.
