Rwanda: Patricia Scotland- sixth and first lady of the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, expressed pleasure to speak at the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Youth Forum ahead of the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM 2022).
She asserted that youth is the future of every country of the Commonwealth, and this is their duty to work on the developmental agenda of the young generation.
Through her social media, Patricia Scotland noted, “It was a great pleasure to speak at the Closing Ceremony of #Commonwealth Youth Forum, which has been a resounding success. Young people are making a difference in every country of the #Commonwealth. Thank you!
Youth have the potential to transform our future.”
CSG Scotland further exclaimed that while speaking at the Commonwealth Youth Forum closing ceremony, she has outlined various development agendas which could assist the commonwealth countries in uplifting them. She said that during her tenure she had worked to uplift the sector and also with her re-energizing vision, she will also work for the Youth upliftment.
Speaking at the CVY closing ceremony, Patricia Scotland said: “I see young people with courage, determination, talent, vibrancy and innovation. You are not tomorrow’s leaders. You are the leaders of today.” Find out what happened at #CYF2022 yesterday.”
In the halls of international politics, climate change is measured in years & decimal points of a degree. But in the world it’s measured in human life, health, wealth, happiness & ability of people to flourish. Patricia Scotland added. “We have a choice to close the gap, right here, right now. #CHOGM2022. ”
Further, she hailed the Duchess of Cornwall and said that it takes courage to say what the First lady and HRH Duchess of Cornwall said at the #CHOGM2022 Event on Violence Against Women & Girls. The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2022 started on June 20, 2022, in Kigali, Rwanda and will be concluded on June 25, 2022. The CHOGM will decide the fate of Patricia Scotland and others for the post of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
