CRICKET: Saint Lucia U16 40 over tournament hosts one match 

One match was played as the 2023 Saint Lucia Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools Under 16, 40 Over Cricket Tournament continued on Friday, June 2, 2023.

Castries, Saint Lucia: One match was played as the 2023 Saint Lucia Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools Under 16, 40 Over Cricket Tournament continued on Friday, June 2, 2023.

The scheduled match between the Saint Lucia Sports Academy and Ciceron Secondary had to be proposed due to wet conditions at the Monchy Playing Field.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Leon Hess Comprehensive earned a hard fought 85 run victory over Corinth Secondary. Leon Hess Comprehensive batting first in a game reduced to 35 overs a side was dismissed for 169 in 20.2 overs with Windward Islands Under 15 player, captain Aaron St Clair top scoring with an enterprising half century.

Aaron St Clair made an aggressive 82 with 8 fours and 7 sixes, Leon Alexander 23 and Joel Butcher 17. The chief distroyer with the ball for Corinth Secondary was national under 15 seam bowler Jaden Khodra with excellent bowling figures of 6 for 28 in 7 overs.

The other wicket takers for Corinth Secondary were, Neil Poyotte, Jaheem Simeon and Troy Prospere with 1 wicket each. In reply, Corinth Secondary was dismissed for 84 in 15.2 overs with Rashidi Smith making 15, Cletus Antoine 11, Tristan Wilson and Messi Gerson making 10 each.

The wicket takers for Leon Hess Comprehensive were Bjorn Fanis with 5 for 24 in 5 overs, Aaron St.Clair 3 for 7 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each to Leon Alexander and Aiden Scholar.
