Castries, Saint Lucia: The 2023 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools Under 16, 40 Over Cricket Tournament in Saint Lucia continued on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, with one more match.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Ciceron Secondary enjoyed a well-deserved 4-wicket victory over Castries Comprehensive Secondary. Castries Comprehensive Secondary batting first was dismissed for 105 in 25.4 overs with Daniel Lorde making 21 and Jadiael Clovis 10.

The wicket takers for Ciceron Secondary were, Nahim David with 3 for 16 in 4 overs, Hayden James 2 for 8 in 3 overs, Dervel Gustave 2 for 17 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each to Shealawn Daniel, Leonel David and Uriyah Charlemagne.

Chasing 106 for victory, Ciceron Secondary finished on 106 for 6 in 16.4 overs with Hayden James and Dervel Gustave making 32 each and Shealawn Daniel 17. The wicket takers for Castries Comprehensive were Captain Kareem Francis with 3 for 12 in 2.4 overs and Lynzie James 3 for 34 in 5 overs.

RESULTS : CICERON SECONDARY DEFEATED CASTRIES COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY BY 4 WICKETS.

The action continues on Wednesday June 14 with what is expected to be an exciting match between the St. Lucia Sports Academy and Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary from 10:00 am at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports/ Gros Islet Community/ After-school Cricket Training continued on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. 

The UK Volunteer group United Through Sports for working with the Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Program in Physiotherapy aid.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 three physiotherapists evaluated and assessed a number of their cricketers in Saint Lucia. Cricket matches help in enhancing the leadership and sporting skills of the players. The students learn the significance of team work and work well for their careers.
