CPL 2022: Trinbago Knight Riders secures third place in points table with win over Tallawahs

The huge thanks should be given to Fabian Allen's 35 runs in the 50 balls as he cracked three fours and a six and further fell down to Daryn Dupavillon of TKR's bowling in the final over.

CPL 2022: After such a dreadful start to the season, Trinbago Knight Riders managed to reach third place in the points table with the win against Jamaica Tallawahs in Caribbean Premier League 2022 T20 series. Knight Riders edged out Tallawahs by four wickets in the game played at Brian Lara Stadium.

Firstly, Tallawahs, who won the toss and chose to bat, found themselves in a problematic situation as they were restricted to 38 runs at five wickets in the 10th over. For Tallawahs, only Shamarh Brooks could able to reach the double digits with 20 runs. Further, Imad Wasin also gave some support and played the turn of 19 runs.

The huge thanks should be given to Fabian Allen’s 35 runs in the 50 balls as he cracked three fours and a six and further fell down to Daryn Dupavillon of TKR’s bowling in the final over.

With the disciplined bowling of Trinbago Knight Riders restricted the Tallawahs’ 116 runs and set the target of 117. Knight Riders also witnessed a harsh start as they lost the wicket of openers Nicholas Pooran and Tion Webster – without a run on the board.

Further, a 67-run partnership of Coli Munro and Tim Seifert gives a good start to TKR and clears the way for the team to chase the target.

Trinbago Knight Riders grabbed the third spot with seven scores in the points table through this win and stayed one point behind the Tallawahs( eight points) in the second spot. However, the position does not bother the Royals as they have maintained the lead of four points against Tallawahs and stood in the first place.

Knight Riders also won the earlier match against Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Jamaica Tallawahs won against Barbados Royals. Barbados Royals stood at the first spot and lost only one match since the start of the Caribbean Premier League season.Â
