CPL 2022: It was a historic win for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots after losing two back-to-back matches and facing abandoning of two matches in the Caribbean Premier League 2022. While registering a victory against Guyana Amazon Warriors, the Patriots won by four wickets.
Firstly, the Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and chose to bat first, but the decision had not worked in their favour. The disciplined bowling and restricted fielding of the Patriots led the Warriors to make the runs of 162 at six outs in twenty overs. They set the target for the Patriots of 163 runs.
It was a BLISTERING start for the Patriots, who find themselves 20/1 off just two overs. Shepherd of Warriors picked up the important wicket of Lewis, which brought Brevis to the crease. However, skipper Sumron Hetmyer of the Warriors tried hard with a 64-run knock, but the Patriots made it very easy for themselves to chase the target.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots finished the game in the last over with two balls to spare. They chased the target of 164 with six wickets in 19.4 overs.
The Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, witnessed the third match of the Caribean Premier League as two matches were held on September 7, 2022. However, the match was the tenth match of the month-long CPL tournament.
The first seven matches were held at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis. The opening of the Caribbean Premier League on August 31, 2022, was held with the first match between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallawahs. SKN Patriots have played four matches in the series so far, but this is the first match that they managed to win.
On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors has still out of the list of winning matches. The Warriors have played three matches so far but are still out of the winning league.
Caribbean Premier League will be concluded on September 1, 2022, and matches are played on the different fields of the Caribbean nations. Saint Lucia will witness four more matches on its field as four matches have been played.
The other eight matches will be played in Trinidad and Tobago’s stadium called Queen’s Pak, Port of Spain. The finals and playoffs will be played in Providence Stadium or Guyana National Stadium.
