CPL 2022: After securing back-to-back T20 cricket matches in the Caribbean Premier League, Barbados Royals registered a victory against Saint Lucia Kings by 11 runs. It was the 6th match of the CPL 2022, which started on August 31, 2022. The match was held in Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.
At the start of the matches, Saint Lucia Kings won and tossed and chose to field, which, however not play in favour of the team. Barbados Royals emerged with a good starting as they hit 49 runs in just five overs and with one out. The great performance leads them to reach a total of 162 with seven wickets and set the target for the Kings 163.
With a starling first over, Royals make it tough for Kings to chase the target as Kyle Mayers took two wickets and left them at four runs with two outs.
While giving an unstoppable performance, Kyle Mayers got a double-wicket maiden in his second over, and Kings stood at 7/4. Kyle Mayers received the MVP awards for an all-round display for match six, which included 36 off 23 balls and four wickets in two overs.
The month-long CPL 2022 tournament will be concluded on September 30, 2022, and the six teams are playing the matches. The first seven matches of the CPL 2022 have been concluded on Warner Park in St Kitts and Nevis in which two matches were abandoned due to heavy rainfall.
Further, in the schedule, the Jamaica Tallawahs, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Barbados Royals emerged victorious in every match.
The name of the six teams was the name of the Caribbean nations, which are- Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Jamaica Tallawahs, Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals, and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Further, the eight matches will be taken place at Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
The next eight matches will be played at Queen’s Park, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The playoffs and the finals will be played at Guyana National Stadium.
