CPL 2022: Barbados Royals witnessed their first loss of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 season after being defeated by Jamaica Tallawahs in the 19th match. Tallawahs won the cricket match by six runs with the DLS method.
The match was held in Queen’s Park, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Firstly, during the time of the toss, Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and chose to field first, which turned out to be a good decision for them.
They secured the win over Barbados Royals by DLS method, which is the first-ever win over the team by any team since the Caribbean Premier League season started. They defeated the Barbados Royals by six runs.
Imad Wasim of Tallawahs came out with a breathtaking start after bowling two maiden overs, and he secured three wickets in the power play. With this disciplined owling, Royals have been restricted to 17 in three outs after six overs.
After the seven overs finished, the Barbados Royals scored 28 runs with three wickets, and Tallawahs took another victory. Royals have been restricted at 47 runs in the four outs in 9.2 overs.
With a partnership of 50 runs by Quinton De Knock and David Miller and Quinton De Knock made his 50th half-century in T20s. With the great batting from the Royals, they set a target of 147 runs for Tallawahs. Quinton De Knock of Royals played a term of 74 runs in 43 balls.
However, in the 17th over, the match was abandoned due to rains, and Tallawahs stood at 126 runs in five overs. They were just left with 21 runs to chase the set target. They won by six runs by the DLS method.
Caribbean Premier League 2022 was started on August 31, 2022, and the first seven matches were held in Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis. The further eight matches of the CPL 2022 were held in Saint Lucia; now the other matches started in Trinidad and Tobago.
