CPL 2022: Making its streak going on, Barbados Royals registered its sixth straight victory in the 16th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 against Trinbago Knight Riders. While staying on the top of the points table, Barbados Royals defeated TKR by eight wickets in their homeland as the match was held at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

It was the fourth defeat of TKR in the month-long cricket tournament so far.

Firstly, Barbados Royals won the toss and chose to field, and the decision played good for the team as they restricted the batters of TKR with their disciplined and exceptional bowling and fielding.

With the bowling of the Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders were restricted at 26 runs in three outs in 4.2 overs after the start of the match. However, the powerful partnership of 82 runs by Nicholas Pooran and Sunil Narine make TKR remain in the game until 13.4 overs.

After that, they faced a huge setback by losing the big wicket of Nicholas Pooran through Obed McCoy of Royals. He scored 52 runs in 43 balls.

Further, the team made 132 runs in total and in 20 overs and set the target of 133 for Barbados Royals.

With the powerful batting, Barbados Royals chased the target, and the team stood at 90 runs with one out in 9.3 overs. Kyle Mayers turned out to be a great player in the game, with his term of 79 leaving the Royals needing 29 runs in 46 balls.
