CPL 2022: Barbados Royals beats Amazon Warriors, qualifies for finals 

The 10th edition of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 received their first finalist after the Barbados Royals won the first Qualifier match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

CPL 2022: The 10th edition of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 received their first finalist after the Barbados Royals won the first Qualifier match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. 

On September 27, 2022, the first playoff match of the season took place at Providence Stadium, Guyana. While securing their place in the finals of the CPL 2022, Barbados Royals beat Amazon Warriors by 87 runs. 

Firstly, the match was opened with the batting from the Royals after the Warriors won the toss and chose to field first. However, the decision has not worked well for the Warriors. 

Royals started their innings with the opening batsman named Rahkeem Cornwall. He gave a good starting to his team after smashing 11 sixes and played the innings of 91 runs in 54 balls. On the other hand, Azam Khan also makes the half-century in the last over. The good partnership of the batsman of the Royals led the team to make 195 runs in just five outs. 

After the Guyana Amazon Warriors came to bat, Barbados Royals gave a tough starting to the team. While facing losses, the Warriors take all the wickets after making 108 runs. 

Captain Kyle Mayers, while opening with Cornwall of the Royals, offered good innings to the team. The two of them got Barbados Royals off to a flier as they made 55 runs with zero wickets lost. They gave good power play to the team. 

Barbados Royals scored 195 runs and gave the target of 196 to Guyana in the 20 overs. Guyana Amazon Warriors finished their innings at 108 runs and lost the match by 87 runs. 

Barbados Royals continue their winning streak as they exceptionally well during the entire season, as they secured seven victories in ten matches. They always stood at the first position on the points table, while Guyana Amazon Warriors stood at the second position after winning four matches in their homeland
