CPL 2021 to be host by St Kitts and Nevis, with proper safety measures

St Kitts and Nevis Island to host 2021's CPL- Caribbean Premier League, with all the 33 games, scheduled to take place on the smallest island of the Caribbean from August 28 onwards.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Island to host 2021’s CPL- Caribbean Premier League, with all the 33 games, scheduled to take place on the smallest island of the Caribbean from August 28 onwards.

Last year the tournament was hosted by Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Island. The CPL operation’s team would again be working closely with the tournament’s medical advisors, local agencies and with St. Kitts & Nevis government to make certain the safety and health of all the players and all those involved in the tournament.

Pete Russell- The COO of Hero CPL Tuesday, 27 April informed that “As was illustrated during the 2020 CPL tournament, CPL is a massive boost for the host country with the US $51.5 million delivered in sponsorship value for Trinidad & Tobago. We are looking forward to give St. Kitts & Nevis the exposure they deserve.”

It is to be believed that this year’s CPL tournament is of more significance as the tournament is taking place less than 45 days before the ICC T20 World Cup.

“Overseas and West Indian players would use this opportunity to push for the selection of their national team,” CPL organisers stated.

Last year CPL tournament was won by Trinbago Knight Riders. The other competing teams Of CPL are- 

  •  Barbados Tridents
  •  Guyana Amazon Warriors
  •  St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots
  •  St. Lucia Zouks 
  • and Jamaica Tallawahs.

Caribbean Premier League is an annual twenty-20 cricket tournament, which is hosted in the Caribbean region. Cricket West indies founded it in 2013 to replace the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty-20 competition in the Caribbean region. It is currently sponsored by Hero Moto Corp and officially named ‘The Hero CPL.’ 

The champions of the first tournament were the Jamaica Tallawahs, who defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the finals of the CPL tournament.
