Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs has announced the new COVID-19 protocols for the coming months on Friday, April 29, 2022. As per the reports, the new COVID-19 guidelines will come into effect on April 30, 2022. It will be imposed till June 3, 2022.
COVID restrictions to remain effective from April 30 to June 3 in St Lucia
Castries, St Lucia: Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs has announced the new COVID-19 protocols for the coming months on Friday, April 29, 2022. As per the reports, the new COVID-19 guidelines will come into effect on April 30, 2022. It will be imposed till June 3, 2022.
Minister of Health Moses Jn Baptiste declared the protocols and stated that every COVID related measure would remain the same as the previous ones.
He said that the impact of the novel coronavirus is still on the ground as the country is recorded daily cases. In addition to that, the mass gatherings and events are strengthening the transmission of the viral infection.
Baptiste further remarked by keeping the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in mind; the Cabinet has decided to continue the protocols and restrictions in place.
So, Health Minister Baptiste has asked St Lucians to follow the infection prevention and control measures to protect their loved ones from the deadly virus. He stated that wearing a face mask, regular hand washing or sanitizing and maintaining a distance and avoiding mass gatherings are some basic measures which could assist the country in containing the spread of the virus.
