Covid-19: Jamaica reports 192 new cases with one death

The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica reported that the island had received 192 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday. Due to the emergence of these recent cases, the total count of Covid-19 mounts to 92,705.

Kingston, Jamaica:  The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica reported that the island had received 192 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday. Due to the emergence of these recent cases, the total count of Covid-19 mounts to 92,705.
With one more death due to the deadliest virus, the overall death toll stands at 2 463 on the island.
The 114 females and 78 males have been recovered Covid-19 positive in the new cases.
The state that has recovered large cases of the deadly virus is St. James, and the count is 90. Moreover, Kingston and St Andrew stand in the second position with 37 positive cases. After that, it is St Ann (17), Hanover (12), Manchester (seven), Westmoreland (11), Trelawny (eight), St Mary (four), St Thomas (two), St Elizabeth (one) and St Catherine (three).
Further, the latest death has been reported from Kingston and St Andrew. A 74-year-old male has died on December 20, 2021.
On the recovery part, the 150 patients have recovered from the deadliest Covid-19 virus. So, a total of 65,032 patients have recovered from the contagious mutant in the island so far.
Earlier on the festive occasion of Christmas, Jamaica has discovered 158 new cases of Covid-19. However, there was not any casualty reported in the day. One death has been reported coincidently, being investigated by the authorities.
In the wake of Christmas and Boxing day, the authorities have halted the vaccination programme. So, the vaccination sites was closed on December 26 and December 27, 2021. The sites will be resume on December 28, 2021.
 Till now, a total of 1,198,014 Jamaicans has received their jabs against Covid-19. While 634,465 were for first doses and  484,843 were for second doses.
Meanwhile, authorities are reportedly urging the general public to remain vigilant to combat the disease. They are asking people to strictly follow all the stated protocols so that Jamaica can become Covid free country.
