Copa Airlines reopens flights from Bahamas

The Copa airlines is resuming flight services from Bahamas island from June 5 2021. The airlines have announced that as of June 5, it is going to restart flights from Panama, connecting the main cities of Latin America to Nassau, Bahamas.

The flights would initially start on Saturday and Monday as of June 17 and would operate Sundays and Thursdays. The airlines have decided to resume the flights from the Bahamas island almost after a year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On resuming the flight, the vice president of Global Sales of Copa Airlines – Christophe Didier, asserted,” At Copa Airlines, we are pleased to announce that on June 5, we would resume our regular operation to Nassau with two flights per week so that the tourists can fully enjoy wonderful days of their rest and experience unforgettable holidays on the Bahamas island.”

“Since the island destination offers a lot of experiences and each island has its own charm, with stunning landscapes, gastronomy and sandy beaches.”

He further noted that the passengers who have a full vaccination certificate, including their second dose of either of the AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Johnson & Johnson, Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines, are excluded from the requirement of a negative RT-PCR test, as of 1 May 2021, and they must have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic at least 14 days prior to their flight to the Bahamas.

Despite this, the passengers who have not received their COVID-19 vaccine are also permitted to come on the island, but with a negative RT-PCR test, that test should be taken up to five days before their trip to the Bahamas.

In addition to this, the passengers who are staying on the Bahamas island for more than four nights and five days must also have a rapid COVID-19 antigen test from an authorized medical centre.
